Gonna be a short one....

Not too much going on around here. I was up w/ Mike when he left for work at 2:30am. He asked me if I would make him an egg sandwich, so I was nice. Doesn't happen very often, especially at that time. I was back in bed before he could get into his car!
I barely got to finish a cup of coffee this morning, so I'm dragging now. I did manage to go through JJ's clothes today and pack up all his 3T stuff. I have several storage boxes of clothes in the schoolroom that I will go through tomorrow. I thought I had packed up all the clothes that Matt Matt has sent to JJ, but then I found another box FULL! Looks like I will be making a trip to Walmart for a couple of storage boxes. JJ found a couple Georgia bulldog jerseys in the boxes, and he wouldn't let them be packed up.
I'm off of here to check email. Then maybe I will actually get a little sleep tonight. Love ya bunches!

Busy Wednesday

I got up this morning thinking I would be able to enjoy my coffee before the kids woke up. I didn't sleep well last night. I hurt until about 2:30am, and Luke didn't sleep well. I was pouring my first cup of energy when Emi came into the kitchen. She was actually being quiet and doing her own thing, so I didn't mind. Before I could get my first cup finished, Bekah woke up. So much for a little peace and quiet. Grandma called before I finished my 2nd cup and wanted to know if Laura could help her put up some peaches in the freezer before they got too ripe. Laura needed to get her laundry done today, b/c she is staying tonight w/ a friend; but, I let her go help Grandma. She got back home around 1pm. Grandma decided she wanted Emi, JJ, and Bekah to go back home w/ her. She said she would get them to take nap. Good luck w/ that! I jumped on the opportunity to clean my stove top. It was in need of MAJOR attention. I wouldn't have to worry about the kids touching the cleaner I put on it. As soon as I got the cleaner on it, the power went out. Laura had gotten one load of her laundry washed, but was waiting for my clothes to finish drying. The clouds were so dark that we couldn't see very well in the house. I had no water pressure to clean the stove top, so I folded 2 loads of laundry and put them away. Then, I cleaned the ceiling fans. Laura and I worked on organizing a little audio center for the little ones w/ goodies from the "Book Fairy." I think the power came back on a few minutes after 5pm.... just in time for Andrew and Laura to get showers for church.
Mike got home from work and crashed on the couch. He has to be at work at 4am. Luke wanted to climb all over him. At least he wasn't attacked by all the little ones. He went to bed around 7:30pm. I know he is exhausted, so I put the kids to bed soon after we got home from picking them up at Papa & Grandma's. I didn't want them running around the house and waking him.
I have done the bank rec. and paid a few bills. I would love to go to bed right now, but I have a few more things I want to do while there is no one to bother me. Say a prayer for me! Love ya bunches!

Weekend rundown

We stayed close to home Friday. Mike and Andrew started putting a dresser together that we had bought in June. I want to start moving clothes around. I need to get out bigger clothes for Luke, but I have to move out all the baby stuff. No need in packing that up just yet. LOL Anyhoo, they were working on the dresser when THE CALL came. Papa & Grandma were only 20 minutes away. Everyone started rushing around to get dressed. Do you think we were excited?! It was SOOOO GOOD to see them after a month of being in Texas. Aunt Lisa looked great. She is a miracle. I cried when I saw her. She will have to have radiation as a precaution, but she is cancer free as far as the doctors can tell. Thank you Lord!
Mike and Andrew finished up the dresser on Saturday. (We stayed late at Papa & Grandma's the night before.) Mike and I went to Statesboro that morning to get a belt for the mower. When we got home, two Netflix movies had been delivered, so you know where everyone was camped out. Mike had ordered disc 1 & 2 of the old G.I. Joe cartoon. The guys were glued to the television. I took a nap.
Sunday, we got up to go to church. I got everyone's clothes ironed and was going to get my shower when I got sick to my stomach. Mike took Andrew & Laura to church, and he came back home to wrangle the smaller Hillians. Andrew and Laura went back to church w/ Papa & Grandma that night. When they got home, Papa & Grandma had brought the little ones a treat... ice cream! Ice cream is always nice right after the kids have had a bath and have been dressed for bed. But, I guess they thought they had a month of spoiling to catch up on.
Yesterday, the kids, Grandma, and I went to Vidalia to do some grocery shopping at Walmart. We had lunch at McDonald's.... making JJ extremely happy. He told me, "Mommy, I inhaled my food!" LOL While I was shopping, I picked up half of the toothpaste we need for Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes. Mike has decided we are doing 20 boxes instead of 18. I'm sure I have bought up enough stuff to cover two more boxes. Emily and JJ followed along beside Grandma. She was using the motorized shopping cart. They would get the items from the shelf. I kept hearing them tell her that they were her big helpers. One time, JJ told her, "Grandma, I love you so much!" Of course, she melted at that comment.
Mike had to leave at 12:30am for work. Luke had taken a long nap after we got home from the grocery store, so he was awake when his daddy got up. He was so excited to see him. Daddy is his favorite now. I feel for Mike when he gets home today after working at 14 hour shift. The little ones will want to climb all over him and play.
Andrew is busy washing his laundry today. He is going w/ the Tomazins to the mountains to go white water rafting. He is excited about the trip. He has had a busy summer. I'm sure it will only get busier as he gets older.
Well, I'm off to find something to eat. My 'little one to be' is telling me he is hungry. Love ya bunches!

An enjoyable Thursday!

We had a great Thursday. First, Papa & Grandma are on their way home from Texas. YAY!!! Aunt Lisa has gotten good reports from the doctors. We are all excited that we will be able to see them tomorrow. I told Papa that we would be sitting on their backstep waiting when they pulled under the carport. :0)

While we were cooking lunch today, Luke had a little tantrum. He was getting tired and wanted some attention. Laura was helping me cook. Andrew was mowing the lawn. Mike was still sleeping. And Luke wanted nothing to do w/ Emi, JJ, and Bekah. He got quiet and when we looked at him, he was asleep on the kitchen floor. We didn't move him.

After Mike left for work, the kids and I went to the Sands' house for some swimming. Oh my goodness, we had a wonderful time. I think Andrew dunked JJ under the water right after they got into the pool. After that, JJ wouldn't get into the pool. He rode on the whale with me holding onto him. I guess he will have to wear his suit w/ the floats built in next time. Laura said he was trying to get on the whale while it was on the side of the pool. But when he couldn't, he got mad and kicked the whale into the water. Bekah relaxed on a float after a little while of sitting on the steps. Luke loved the pool. He floated around in the baby rings for a while, then I held him the rest of the time. After a quick change into dry clothes and a snack, we went back outside. Melissa made more pics of the kids. She has an awesome slideshow on her blog that you can check out. She loaded the kids up with books. I'm not sure why she thinks my kids like books. :0) It's not like they are constantly reading or anything. We headed home a little after 6pm. We didn't get 2 miles away before Bekah and Luke were sound asleep. Too bad the rest of us couldn't crawl up to take a nap.

Everyone has had baths and most of the little ones are asleep.... except Bekah. She is actually telling Laura to go to sleep. Guess she got her power nap and is ready to go. I think I'm going to rest on the couch for a few minutes, then get some cleaning done. Love ya bunches!

Wednesday rundown...

Today wasn't as productive as yesterday, but I did manage to get the curtains in the living room washed. They were driving me nuts. Tomorrow morning, I hope to wash the curtains at the sliding glass door.
Luke gave me a little surprise today when I went to get him out of his bed from his nap. He has the habit of removing his diaper, if he isn't wearing clothes. I forgot to tell Laura to put a onesie on him before she layed him down. He was standing up in the bed and standing on a poopy diaper. YUCK!!! This is the first time that has happened to me. I carried him out of the room holding on to him under his arms. Andrew wiped his feet and legs off while I held him. Then Andrew gave him a bath while I cleaned the bed. The mess was mostly on the sheet and cover, but I wiped the bed down w/ Clorox disinfecting wipes and gave it a good spray down w/ Lysol. The sheets have been washed in bleach as well. That is just so gross! Mike has been telling me that it was bound to happen. He had a great laugh when he checked his messages tonight.
Laura went to sit w/ Grandma Laura at my parents' house while Mama took Daddy to the doctor. Grandma has gout in her foot, so she isn't too steady on her feet.
When it was time to take Andrew to the church, Bekah started crying, "No, not yet... no, no... not yet." She then started digging around in a blanket on the couch. I thought maybe she was going to wrap up in the blanket. Nope, she pulled out her pink tu-tu. Oh my goodness! We had to put it on her before we could leave. I will be lucky to get out of the house to go swimming at Lissa's, and Bekah not have on that thing! My daddy told me the other night that I need to start looking for another one. We have found one at Target, but couldn't buy it b/c she was with us. She would have noticed the pink frilly thing in the back of the buggy.
I'm off to start another load of laundry. Mike is working tonight, so I won't be able to sleep anyway. I will crash on the couch until he gets home when I finally get sleepy. Love ya bunches!

Only 3 more days... maybe less!

I talked to Papa late yesterday afternoon. He said Aunt Lissa has doctor appointments today and tomorrow. If she gets done early enough and is feeling up to it, they are going to try to leave to come home around noon tomorrow. Can we all say, YAY!!!!!! It means they will be home sometime Friday instead of Saturday. I'm so excited, if you can't tell.
I had a productive day yesterday. I managed to find most of the puzzle pieces that were missing that Laura couldn't find the day before. We got most of the toys picked up in the school room. I can't say they are all picked up, b/c some of them have migrated BACK to the school room floor. grrrr I washed a couple loads of laundry, folded them, and put them away. I straighten the living room. I'm hoping to get the curtains down today to be washed. I need Mike's help for that. I removed Luke from the dining room table too many times to count. I don't know how he gets up there so fast.
Right now, I am about to lose my cool w/ a couple kiddos (Emi and JJ). They are hounding me about playing games on their computers. If you tell them to wait a minute, they wait about 15 seconds before asking again. grrrrrrrrrr Emi is turning on her computer now, and JJ got Andrew to put a game in his computer. Maybe now I can finish doing what I need to do in peace.

Look what I found on my table this morning...

I was talking to Melissa on the phone and walked to the laundry room to start a load washing. I walked back through the house to find this.....

He was holding the pepper shaker. I removed him from the table, walked to my bedroom, and came back to find him up on the table again. I grabbed my camera (Aren't you proud, Lissa and Julie?!), and he started waving. What a stinker!

The guys are gone for the day w/ one of Mike's friends and his little boy. They have gone to ride some boat in some river. The girls are busy picking up puzzle pieces. They want to play w/ PlayDoh as soon as Luke goes down for a nap. They are also trying to figure out where Daddy can take them for a special outting.

On the way home from church last night, JJ asked if we could go swimming in Aunt Lissa's big, deep pool. He wants to swim with his head under water. He will be happy to find out I called Aunt Lissa about going over this week.

Friday is over.. time for the weekend.

The kids and I ventured to Savannah yesterday afternoon. We left a few minutes after Mike left for work. I was in my own little world driving along the interstate when a white truck started to pass me, then it slowed down beside me. It was my dear hubby and the guy he commutes with. They were waving like teenagers. LOL Of course, that got the kids all excited b/c they wanted to follow Daddy to work.
JJ needed shoes, so we went to the Savannah Mall. I wanted to check out some special sales Target was having on school supplies. I needed pens, etc. for the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. We made a run through the toy department... like these kids need more toys! JJ was excited to find some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figures. He bought Bebop, RockSteady, and a smaller figurine of Raphael with some of his birthday money. I found a few more sets that Andrew covered up in the back of the buggy for JJ's Christmas. Emily found a cash register that she wanted to buy with her birthday money. After about 5 minutes of hearing it beep and JJ talking into the microphone, I flipped the switch off. She kept telling me that batteries were dead. I told her that I had turned it off, but I wasn't telling her where the switch was located. Bekah bought a couple Disney princess figurines and a little musical set. Luke got a wooden bead maze. He played with it the rest of the time we were in the mall.
We didn't find JJ's shoes at the Savannah Mall, so we were off to the Oglethorpe Mall. I made a quick stop at a CVS for some Tylenol. I had a major headache that was about to get the best of me. If I wouldn't have stopped then to take something, Mike would have been coming to get us in about 15 minutes. It was HORRIBLE. First stop at the Oglethorpe Mall.... the food court. The kids inhaled their supper like they had not eaten in days. They love Chick-fil-A. I managed to find JJ some shoes at Kids FootLocker. Then I bought a few maternity shirts for myself at JCPenney. So much for NOT buying new maternity clothes. Andrew said I could get good use from the in the next pregnancy too. He is just too funny. We didn't see the guy w/ the rooster hair this time. Andrew told JJ to look for him. **rolls eyes** I would have crawled under a rack of clothes had we seen that guy again this trip. As a treat, we went to Barnes and Noble. Andrew and Laura found a few books but decided not to buy them there. They had gift cards to Books-A-Million. Andrew did buy himself four new shirts at Aeropostle. We went across the street to B-A-M. All the kids were in excited. JJ played w/ the train set the entire time. He wasn't happy when we had to leave. Andrew and Laura bought several books each.. imagine that, Lissa! The only book that Emily saw that she wanted was Goldilicious, but decided to wait until it is in paperback. I bought some books for Laura's Christmas.
On the way home, the light was on. I HAD to stop. I think there is some law that says you have to stop when the light is on. I am not one that likes to break the law, so I pulled "the bus" right into the parking lot. When I hopped outta the van, Emi and JJ started asking where I was going. Andrew told them I was getting a surprise. I guess I pulled in so fast, they didn't have time to see where we were. :) When we were leaving, JJ said, "I want my fries!" I told him I didn't buy him any fries to which he replied, "But Andrew said you were getting us fries!" Andrew had to explain to me the conversation. LOL By the way... as we were pulling out of the parking lot, Emi said, "Hey Mommy, I found the switch!" *** loud groan***
The ride home was relatively quiet. We did hear the occassional beep of the cash register, but then I think she fell asleep.
Look, I just rambled on about our trip to Savannah like someone would care! Today, I hope to get some cleaning done. I need to pick peas also. I keep forgetting to run out to the garden to check them. Love y'all bunches!

It's only Thursday?!

It is almost 11pm, and Emily and Rebekah are still awake! grrrrrr! Bekah is fighting sleep, b/c her fingers are taped and she can't suck them. Emily is up now giving me a tube of lip gloss b/c Bekah. The last trip in here was to give me a hug and kiss goodnight for the 4th or 5th time. The time before that was to tell me she had to go to the bathroom. Bekah is now trying to kick Emi off the bed. I need a cup of coffee!
Mike was suppose to be home tonight, but they called him into work. So, he will be working 4pm to 4am for the next 4 nights. By Monday morning, I may be sending him to stay a couple days w/ Lissa. :-) He will be as ill as a hornet. Those days are the worst w/ the kids. They know he is in the bedroom, and he is going to be off work for a few days. The little ones want him up to play. That is what he gets for being the "fun one." :-) We will probably need to leave home for a few hours so he can get some much needed and well deserved rest.
I took food to a friend's family today. Andrew and JJ went with me. While we were in Collins, we stopped in to check on Grandma Laura. She asked Andrew if he would change the bulbs in her front porch light fixture. Of course, he did. Then it was off to get a haircut in Claxton. I was nice to JJ and took him to eat at McDonalds. I was his favorite for a few hours... until we got back home where Daddy was. JJ told Marie to cut Andrew's hair like Woody Woodpecker. Then he had to tell everyone that his daddy bought him a Woody Woodpecker movie at "Crackel Barrel." The kids gets his love for Cracker Barrel from Granny.
I came home from town to find Mike and Laura baking Focaccia bread. Don't ask me how to pronounce it, just trust me that it is good. Mike had eaten some on a Greek ship that was docked at Colonial. He found the recipe one day in one of my Family Fun magazines. We get treated to the bread occassionally. Before he could get it finished, he got called into work. I had to help Laura w/ the last few steps. Out of two loaves, there is about 1/3 of a loaf left. I thought I was going to have to hide it from the kids. My daddy came over after work, and he tried it. He really liked it.
I had planned to go get JJ some new shoes tonight... just me, him, and Daddy. My plans were washed out when Mike got the call. I like Mike going with me occassionally on these shopping trips just for him to see what things are costing these days.
Well, my hubby is on the phone. He is coming home early. YAY! Love ya bunches!

Midweek review

This week has been tame so far. After I posted about the gremlins, my missing posts were there. Guess the gremlins put them back. We got some much needed rain Monday. We ended up w/ almost 1 1/2". We had an inch w/in the first 20 minutes. It really made me want to crawl in bed for a nap, but I was a big girl and stayed up.
Mike was off today. He slept until lunch, which is allowed b/c he got home from work at 5am. He could've slept all day if he wanted, but I guess the noise forced him from slumber. He cleaned our a/c unit outside. Boy, was it HOT outside. I was out there picking tomatoes and watering my tomato and bell pepper plants. Mike is off work tomorrow, so he and Andrew will be working on Papa & Grandma's water leak. I will be taking food to a friend's family. Her grandma passed away Monday. I will go to visit Grandma Laura while I'm in Collins.
It was great to see Mindy tonight at the funeral home. I have missed her the past few times she has been down from West Virginia. Makes me realize how much I miss her. I'm hoping that we can have lunch Friday before she goes back home.
Well, I'm off to kick my feet up a while. I wore heels tonight. What was I thinking?! We went to the grocery store after we left the funeral home. My poor piggies are killing me. Love ya bunches!

A gremlin?!

I was checking my blog, and the last two posts I wrote are gone. Could a gremlin have eaten them? Is anyone else having problems w/ posts disappearing? grrrrrr That just frustrates me.
I'm going to get a cup of coffee and find some meds to settle Mr. Lukey's stomach. It keeps making sounds and churning like I'm about to wear his breakfast. Love ya bunches!

Saturday update...

Yesterday was a good day at home. Andrew finished cutting grass while I washed clothes. The little ones played. Mike and Andrew had to do a little crawling under Papa & Grandma's house looking for a water leak. Andrew found one, but it is a copper pipe leaking. Mike had to shut the water off until he can get the stuff to fix it. What fun! Mike and I went back to town to get Chinese and movies. Mike told JJ we were going to McDonald's, so of course he was UPSET that he couldn't go. He was standing at the backdoor watching us drive off. His eyebrows were on his chin... it's a Brannen thing! We enjoyed the movie Inkheart. Andrew and Laura have read the book.
JJ was the source of a couple good laughs. While I was changing clothes to go to town, Mike and the kids were in the living room. Mike had his nose stuck in a book. He said he heard JJ say, "One... two... three... Launch!" Then he heard something hit the ceiling and then felt it hit his foot. He looked at JJ who said, "Hey look, it is a lever!" He had taken on of the paddles and put a block under the middle of it... making a lever. Then he sat a toy on it lower end and launched it up to the ceiling. Apparently he has learned about levers on Sid the Science Kid on PBS. And then Mike and Andrew have taught him how to launch things w/ forks... at the table. grrrrrrrrrr! Of course, I always remind Mike of this when we are out somewhere and JJ wants to try his trick. **smiles sheepishly** I know I shouldn't say it, but I told him so!
The second of JJ's laughs came while we were watching Inkheart. Part of the movie was set in the mountains. My kids LOVE the mountains, even though the trip there doesn't like them. JJ had crawled up into Mike's lap during a part that was showing a view of some mountains. JJ informed Mike that he wanted to climb a mountain. His daddy told him when he got big like Andrew that the two of them would go climb a mountain. JJ replied, "And then, we can go to Mt. Everest..." Mike quickly let him know that he would be climbing Mt. Everest without Daddy's company. I almost fell off the couch laughing at the conversation. Where does this kid get it?!
Luke has tooth #5 breaking through the gum. I noticed it last night. He is also getting a little braver w/ walking. He is taking a couple steps more frequently now, but still gets impatient and drops to his knees to get somewhere quicker. He should be walking all over the place when Papa & Grandma get home.
Bekah is doing well w/ the tape on her fingers. She hasn't pulled it off. She did wake up after we had put her to bed, but quickly went back to sleep on the couch w/ me. I haven't seen evidence that she is sucking any other fingers, but I will tape them up if I do. She told me this morning that she loved me the most, but not JJ. When I told her that she did love JJ, she said, "No I don't." Her personality is really coming out now. She is my Sarah!
Emily asks me every day how long it is until Christmas. She told me the other day that she wants skates and a skateboard for Christmas. I'm not sure where she thinks she is going to use them. Which reminds me... if you haven't seen the Evian water skating babies comercial, you need to look it up on YouTube. It is too cute!
Andrew and Laura have been enjoying a little down time after a very busy June. Andrew has helped Mike w/ a couple a/c jobs lately. Laura has had her nose stuck in books... thanks Lissa! She is also helping me cook more. I'm trying to show her how to do things. I don't want her not knowing how to cook when she gets married. Although, she will have an adjustment period cooking for only two instead of a small army. I know I did when Mike and I got married. It was hard trying to judge things when I was used to helping cook for 6-7.
Well, I am going to drink a glass of water. I think I have a UTI starting. I have taken some AZO to help relieve the symptoms. The urgency is gone now, but I need to drink lots of water. Love ya bunches!

Late Thursday night, Laura and I were online looking for the song "Empty Me" by Chris Sligh. Luke woke up, so Andrew ran to get him before he woke up Mike. A few minutes later, we got to missing them. This is how we found them. Isn't that sweet?! A couple years ago, JJ took over Andrew's bed. Andrew got tired of putting him back in his bed in the middle of the night, so he just let him sleep w/ him. Hopefully we will be moving JJ and Luke to their own room in the next month, so Andrew will be able to stretch out again. LOL I did put Luke back in his own bed, but only after I got a few pics to share.

You all know how much Bekah LOVES her fingers. She was the only one that I let do it.... only b/c she was the only one that had colic. She could have sucked her big toe as long as she didn't cry. Well, I'm finally trying to break her from sucking them. I taped them last night. Needless to say, she was NOT a happy little girl. While I was taping them, she was saying, "No Mommy... no, no, no. No Mommy." Mike was sitting on the other couch looking like he was about to cry. LOL He said, "Doesn't that melt just a little of the ice on your heart?" Ummm, yes! But I want to break her of this habit. This is the only way I know to do it. She is whimpering behind me as I type this. Grandma Jean would have pulled the tape off by now, b/c she couldn't stand to see her baby girl sad. Maybe it is a good thing that I have two weeks to work on this.
Mike and I went grocery shopping yesterday. We were at Walmart before 1pm, so I thought we would be beating the crowds. Wrong! It was crazy in there. Plus, I think GSU may have had something going on w/ incoming freshman. I think from now until October, I will stay away from Statesboro as much as possible. I do prefer to go to Vidalia if I have to go to Walmart... unless it is onion season. We got our groceries and came home... hoping to have a relaxing evening w/ the kiddos. NOPE! We sat down to supper, and Bekah started vomitting. Mike turned a nice shade of green. Then Luke started vomitting. Mike turned an ugly, dark shade of green, so he was sent to the living room to eat his meal. LOL We got everyone cleaned up, finished our meal, and then joined Mike in the living room. I'm crossing my fingers that it was sinus drainage that was making them sick. Time will tell.
I'm off to wash towels and get them on the clothes line while the sun is shining. Have a blessed weekend. Love ya bunches!

It's gonna be a LONG two weeks.

We just got off the phone w/ Papa & Grandma. They are in Houston, TX, w/ Aunt Lisa, Colby, and Mrs. Loretta. Aunt Lisa came through the surgery and is doing awesome. They were able to take out the tumor, and she is cancer free. Thank you Lord!!! She is back at the apartment. Even if she isn't at home, she is able to rest more at the apartment than if she was in the hospital. And of course, she is getting much better food with Grandma Jean and Mrs. Loretta cooking. Colby was telling me that they have had two cakes and a couple batches of chewy cake while they've been there. Okay, I think he is rubbing it in a little. He knows we are missin' them. The kids are going to wither away w/o Grandma feeding them cookies and candy several times a week. "Charity, go get them babies some cookies out of the kitchen." Aunt Lisa has doctor appointments on July 22 &23, so they will be out there until then. It will be right at a month since we have seen them. I told Grandma I would punch holes in a box and mail JJ out there to keep Papa & Colby occupied. Grandma told Laura a few minutes ago to get on a bus and go see her. I don't know who would be more excited if we were to show up at their door. I guess we will just have to be patient, b/c Papa & Grandma are where they need to be right now. We will wait our turn. Guess I'm going to have to start a countdown on the calendar so the kids will stop asking when they will be home. Love ya bunches!

Wow, it is already Thursday!

Where has this week gone?! It seems like it just started. I'm not complaining, b/c I like it when the weeks fly by.... means I'm closer to my due date.
During the night, Luke woke up crying. B/c he is still trying to recover from 4 shots, I put him in bed w/ us. Mike put him back in his bed when he left at 2:30am. I woke up at 6:30am to Luke coughing and gagging next to me in bed. I got him up and gave him a little water. I thought maybe his throat was dry. It seems to have work b/c he snuggled up to me and went back to sleep. I woke up an hour later and it hit me, "How in the heck did Luke get back in bed w/ me?!" I swear I don't remember getting up and putting him back in my bed. And I KNOW Mike put him back in his own bed, b/c I remember thinking when Mike picked him up, "Awww, look how sweet he looks snuggled up in Daddy's arms."
Speaking of Luke, he is crawling up to me now, but calling for "Da Da." He is such a Daddy's boy. His face lights up when Mike gets home from work. It sounds like a stampede of elephants when I yell, "Daddy's home!" Of course, Mike is grinning from ear to ear watching the little ones dance around his feet while he takes his sweet time taking off his boots. Luke cries if Mike walks away w/o picking him up.
I'm off to get some stuff done around here. I would like to uncover my desk today. Have a day full of blessings! Love ya bunches!

Busy week so far

Yesterday morning, I had to be in Statesboro for my OB checkup. I got the results of my quad-screen test (tests for spinal bifida, down syndrome, and not sure what else.) The test came back negative. Thank you Lord! I have gained a whole 4 lbs this pregnancy, so far. I am 22 weeks today. I can't believe it!
This morning, Luke had his 12 month checkup. He weighed 18 lbs, 2 oz. I can't remember how long he was. They said his iron was low, so we have to work at getting that up. He has a recheck in 6 weeks. He got 4 shots, so you can imagine his mood today.
Mike and I went to Vidalia to have tires put on Mike's car. That was a nice chunk of change to spend. While we waited, you know we had to browse WallyWorld. We bought the shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. We also got the crayons we would need to stuff them. I buy the stuffers all year so it won't be such a hit to the pocketbook in November, especially since we do 2 shoeboxes per family member. This year, we will be adding a little one so that means 2 more boxes. Could you imagine the hit to the checkbook if I wait to buy everything for 18 boxes at one time?! OUCH!
I took a much needed nap when we got home. It was so nice hearing the rain beating down on the roof. I think we have had over 1 1/2" since 2pm. My garden is happy.
Well, off to referee a fight between Andrew and JJ. Love ya bunches!

Happy Independence Day!

I hope you are all having a wonderful day celebrating our independence. Please remember the sacrifice that so many have given for the lives we enjoy today.
I thought that I might get to sleep late today. Wrong! I was awakened by Bekah in the kitchen... singing at the top of her lungs. For those of you that think she is soooo quiet, she's not! When I walked out of my room, she told me to shhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Guess I was interrupting her routine. She had on her pink tu-tu and pink high heels. I think she actually slept in all of it. She is a princess.
Guess I'm off to make RC treats for SOMEONE! Wonder who that could be.... any ideas, Lissa?!
