Our July 4th Holiday

Mike and I started our July 4th holiday doing a little refrigerator shopping at Lowe's.  No, it isn't how  had pictured my day, but it had to be done.  Our 15 1/2 year old refrigerator is dying.  We have had to have work done on it for the last 4 or 5 years.  We kept putting off looking for another one.  I noticed on Wednesday that the drinks I had put in the refrigerator hours before weren't cooling down much.  I put a thermometer in there.... 62 degrees. UGH!!!  When Mike called me on his way home from work, I told him.  He told me we could go shopping for one the next day.  We only had a 34 1/2" opening for the refrigerator, which meant we couldn't get the size we really needed for our family.  After walking around and around the appliance section, we finally decided on TWO.  Yep, you read that right.  We bought two refrigerators.  Anytime we went shopping, we didn't have room for everything.  It drove us nuts.  It takes just a "little" food to feed our small army of nine.  I am beyond excited.  There is nothing fancy about them, but they will be functional.  They will be delivered tomorrow afternoon after we get home from church.  I will be doing a happy dance.

We rushed home after refrigerator shopping to have lunch with Papa Harold, Gma Jean, Paul & Laura (my baby brother & his wife).  We visited for a while, then it was back home to rest.  I thought the little boys would take a nap, but they just stretched out in the bed w/ Mike to watch cartoons.  They did a great job getting their daddy to take a nap. LOL!!  We ended our day watching the fireworks display at a local high school.  We were in such a hurry to get out of the house before it started raining again that I forgot my camera.  I didn't get to snap any pictures of the Hillians sitting in the back of the van watching the fireworks. :o(

Yesterday, Mike and I went to Savannah w/ Paul and Laura to see a movie.  We went to see The Lone Ranger, and I will say that I was very disappointed.  It wasn't a very good movie.  You know I hardly ever go to Savannah without going to Publix, and this trip was no exception. :o)  I LOVE PUBLIX!!!  I had a few rain check and sales items to pick up.  We went downtown Savannah to City Market to have supper.  We ate at Vinnie Van Go Go's.  Their pizza is the best!!!!  I highly recommend the place.  There is nothing fancy about the building, but the pizza is delish!!!

Today, we have been hanging around the house.  I love days that I don't have to leave the house.  The kids are playing, so the house is not quiet.  They really want to go outside, but it keeps raining off and on.  I am not complaining about the rain, b/c it will be hot and dry here soon enough.  Andrew cut grass Thursday morning and it will need it again soon.

Time to get the spaces ready for my new refrigerators.  Hope this finds you all well.  Love ya bunches!!

Two refrigerators? Hmm, I suppose it was only a matter of time ;) I'm glad you found what you needed for your family (and I daresay, you definitely got your money's worth out of your old refrigerator!)
