Happy 13th Birthday Laura!

Happy 13th Birthday to my young lady!  Wow, where has the time gone?!  I seems like just yesterday that I was holding her in my arms for the first time.  Now, she is becoming a young lady right before my eyes.  Talk about being scared to death!  I can't believe I now have two teenagers in the house.
Laura is truly a blessing.  She is a major part of my support team.  I don't know how I would do it without her and Andrew.  Yes, I could manage, but it would be a lot more complicated.
Today, she went on her "Daddy date."  They started off their date w/ running an errand for me... returning my pan that I use to bake pound cakes.  Don't worry Lissa and Matthew, I have a bunt pan I can use to make you a cake until I find a good one piece tube pan.  After the errand, they went to Hobby Lobby and Books-A-Million.  They had lunch at Buffalo's, where I think Mike requested a coloring page and crayons for Laura.  (I really think he is having a hard time with her little girl growing up.)  They went to see Avatar.  Who knows if I spelled that right!  They then went to Walmart for me to pick up some supplies for me to make candy for Mike's coworkers.  They ended their date with have dinner at Nikko's.
Just when Laura thought her birthday couldn't get any better, we had another surprise for her.  We went over to my parents' house, leading Laura to believe that Honey & Granny just wanted to see her on her birthday.  Little did she know that Uncle Abba (Adam), Aunt Kara, and Makenna were waiting for her there.  We have been telling her for weeks now that Adam, Kara, and Makenna wouldn't be here until the 23rd.  She was so disappointed that they wouldn't be here for her birthday.  They moved to Pennsylvania in May 2008.  We haven't seen Adam and Makenna since April, and Kara since Thanksgiving of last year.  Let's just say she was beyond surprised to find Uncle Abba in Granny's kitchen.  She kept telling us that we were mean for keeping it a secret.  It was worth it!
I pray for God's protection over my beautiful Laura.  He has been with her through the years.  He has something special planned for her, and my prayers are that she will let Him direct her steps.  She will always be my little redheaded angel.
